CDL School

CDL School is available for individuals who possess a dynamic, fun personality, and who will demonstrate care for the safety of our customers.

We will prepare candidates to obtain their CDL Class B, with Air Brake and Passenger endorsement. All candidates must pass the General Knowledge Test for the Class B license as well as the written tests for Air Brakes and Passenger endorsement. Additionally, eligible School Bus Driver candidates must pass the written exam for the School Bus endorsement and pass Metro Schools fingerprinting & background check.

After you have taken and passed all written tests you will receive a Commercial Drivers Permit. This will allow you to operate a motorcoach while in training and to prepare you for your CDL Skills Test.

Charter Driver

Want to travel the country and experience new places? Love making your clients feel comfortable and well-taken care of? Join our team as a charter driver!

As a charter driver, you will be providing safe and reliable transportation to different locations, sometimes with an overnight responsibility.

We look for individuals with:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CDL with a passenger endorsement preferred (CDL Training Class available).
  • Ability to work weekdays and weekends.
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with coworkers, the general public, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
School Bus Driver

Interested in making a difference in a child’s life? Then we’d love your smiling face welcoming students and children onto our buses!

We look for individuals with:

  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
RTA Driver

An RTA driver is the first face many people see in the morning on their way to work. You will drive from the outlying cities bringing workers into Nashville. RTA drivers provide the highest quality of service to the commuting customers and communities.

We look for individuals with:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A good driving record and valid CDL License (Paid CDL Training Offered)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clear speech and listening skills
  • Ability to apply proper driving procedures
  • Ability to learn transit routes and schedules and adapt to changes; ability to read a map
  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Works well in a team environment essential.
Sightseeing Driver

Would you like to be a Downtown Tour Driver to the millions of Nashville visitors? As a Sightseeing Driver you will be an ambassador of Nashville by pointing out all the fun sights and information for everyone to know! You will be the spokesperson for Nashville’s sights and sounds.

We look for individuals with:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL with a passenger endorsement preferred (CDL Training Class available).
  • Ability to work weekdays and weekends.
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with coworkers, the general public, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.
  • Ability to drive a Trolley, Minibus, or Double Decker through Nashville
  • Ability to make multiple stops
  • Inspect the vehicle before and after the trip and record any defects you find
  • Keep a log of your activities
  • Keep the vehicle and associated equipment, clean and in good working order
  • Be in the know of all the hot spots and on-going events for visitors and locals
  • Excellent customer service with a smile
Maintenance Positions

We are looking for Cleaning Crew, Mechanics, and General Technicians. You will be responsible for the mechanical repairs for our fleet of vehicles. Our fleet is primarily the Ford e-series chassis. We also include F-Series and Cummins. Gray Line also has a large fleet of 80+ School Buses.

We look for individuals with:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two-years’ experience
  • Knowledge of diesel and fuel engines
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs
  • Experience operating equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair
